“We cannot change the way the world is, but by opening ourselves to the world as it is, we may find that gentleness, decency and bravery are available – not only to us, but to all human beings.” Ultimately, that is the definition of bravery: not being afraid of yourself.
Chögyam Trungpa, Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior
“When we are afraid of ourselves and afraid of the seeming threat the world presents, then we become extremely selfish. We want to build our own little nests, our own cocoons, so that we can live by ourselves in a secure way.”“A great deal of the chaos in the world occurs because people don't appreciate themselves.”

A great deal of the chaos in the world occurs because people don't appreciate themselves. When we are afraid of ourselves and afraid of the seeming threat the world presents, then we become extremely selfish. We want to build our own little nests, our own cocoons, so that we can live by ourselves in a secure way.
