I stepped out the door and all of the locals were out. The trees were orange. I saw the diagonal man. I saw Jed in a plaid shirt walking his fat pink-eared dog along with his his burlap wife. I saw a cluster of police cruisers circling and then gathering in the parking lot at Chelo's with detectives. It's never dull in the city. That's why we love it.
