I think a lot about fear because on my walks women are always telling me what they are afraid of. Sadly the modern car has replaced the community stroll and people hide in their steel tanks. I often see young mothers pushing their baby strollers into traffic daring the cars to stop. Maybe they are secretly trying to be rid of their babies. I see old men with strollers full of empty beer bottles wheeling to the market for deposit refunds. I used to be afraid of people too but after years of daily dog walking I cherish my little exchanges with strangers.
