Early Morning Blackstone Walk
At 7:30 AM I walked Lily. We went through Precious Blood Cemetery and over to Miller Street and Carter Ave where a cluster of kids were at the bus stop with their mothers. "It's picture day, for the second grade," one girl said modeling her black lace dress and high-heeled shoes. The trees along the pond were bright orange. On the way home I walked though the dirt path. I was home at nine AM and ravenous. I made fried eggs and warmed a small bowl of leftover beans and greens stew. I decided to take the dozen Jamie's home made sausages and pressure cook them with the number ten can's worth of stewed tomatoes. I added Karen's home grown garlic, oregano and red chilies. We'll have a winter's worth of tomato sauce for spaghetti. October is the cozy cooking food month. I'm thinking about making a pumpkin pie.
