Bill's theory on noise

Bill's theory on noise is people are terrified of space they don't know so they are trying to conquer it. They do this by by overwhelming the space with sound. It's as if they're try to overtake the unknown demons that are inhabiting it, which is actually their own fear.

When Bill was teaching at the (very strict) Charter school in Worcester the kids were naturally terrified. One day a guy drove down the street blasting his stereo and the kids all jumped up and spontaneously started dancing to the music. It was their music so they immediately felt happy safe and comforted.
