Moral Movement
by Lawrence Scahill
It’s a moral moment on the stony border line.
Time to let a blazing new light shine
on the concrete floors,
metal walls and metal doors.
Stop holding children in our name,
Zero limit, stand against the shame.
For everyone who is helpless tonight,
May the morning sun show a glory light
For everyone who is homeless tonight,
May a safe haven move into plain sight.
It’s a moral moment, there is no place to hide.
Time to bear witness, time to decide
step up and meet the day
shout out or walk away
Stop holding children in our name,
Zero limit, stand against the shame.
