Last night we spoke to Georgeta about her grandfather George, who she was named after. He was killed by the Communists in Romania. She told us about the duplicity of her school brain-washing versus the truths she learned at home. Her father, an engineer, brought home books from America and Europe so the family could learn about the world. She went to college in NYC and her sociology professor said that what she experienced in communist Romania could never happen here. Georgeta disagreed, and now her 20th reunion is coming up and she's eager to speak with her professor again. "I was right, wasn't I," she will say.
