When my dad was in high school in Winnetka, Ill., he was a leading man in many of the plays. There was one other guy, who was good-looking enough and tried out for all the rolls. But, my dad won them most of the time. According to my dad, the other guy could never remember his lines. My dad went to fight in WWII, and the other guy went to Hollywood and rebranded himself from Roy Fitzgerald to Rock Hudson. True story.
