I never understood mind-body separation.
It was a natural extension for me to run as I have been walking four to five miles a day with my dog for years. Fresh air solitude and changing scenery are all a plus for me. It's never work because my eyes and ears and nose are always feasting. I'll admit I do get HIGH from any kind of exertion. I always offer to help a friend move. Lifting boxes and shoveling snow are a big win for me. I am a MULE in a woman's body and my cousin Sue is the same way. For years she taught horseback riding to juvenile delinquents and skiing to seniors. She's a woman in motion. My sister is too. It must be from my biological father's side of the family. My other siblings do not feel this way at all. I never understood mind body separation. I feel a unity of mind when I move. I think with my ankles and thighs and torso. How could I not? That said I worship sleep and stillness, contemplation. Not moving is as important as moving.
