Yesterday I saw the butterfly. I only see her once or twice a year when she swims at our pool. In the locker room after our swim she told me her father was a commercial fisherman.
"My friend in college, her dad was a commercial fisherman. He'd be gone for weeks," I said.
"When my younger sister was 2 years old she didn't want my father to leave so she hid all of his stuff before the trip. He ended up missing the boat. The boat never came back," she said.
"Oh my god, she saved his life!"
"After that he never took the long trips. He stayed local and became a lobsterman."
