Baluster Boy
On my walk today I noticed a three year old boy standing on the roof over the defunct storefront. He was waving a light blue stick in his hand like a club. I could see the space in the porch railing through which he'd escaped. He must've twisted one of the balusters off. He was enjoying being King Kong, fifteen feet above the sidewalk. I spotted his two teenage brothers on bikes in the alley and told them Junior was on the roof. They called out to him and I watched him disappear through the gap.
