City Paws

Last night Romeo nibbled at his irritated paw-pad. He nibbled it raw. "That's just like me when I have a mosquito bite," I said. My husband and I realized that playing rounds of fetch in our yard which has areas of pavement must have caused this, and then walking on city salt-treated sidewalks further irritated it. We will change our ball playing routine so this does not happen again, and for now keep the wound clean and dry so it heals. Yesterday we bought him two big white Nylabones, the indestructible kind, which he works through in short order.
