Last night on our walk we saw seven turkey vultures feasting on a fox carcass. "Thanksgiving dinner," I said to my husband. Then a few yards down we saw a few more vultures feasting on another dead fox. When we turned the corner we saw one lone vulture feasting on a dead skunk. "Look at that," I said, "each time the vulture pecks at it the whole carcass lifts and jerks."
"They don't have teeth, you know," my husband reminded me. "That's how they get the meat."
"That makes sense," I said. It was quite a show of nature.
