Turquoise Circus

My husband bought me new goggles and after he adjusted them to my enormous skull I swam with them. I was amazed at what I could clearly see underwater. I saw tattoos and bruises and dirt and hair. I'll never be bored again, I thought. I saw people doing their unique routines. The whole underwater scene was captivating like a strange turquoise circus. I felt like a dolphin at Sea World. I could even see my own legs. The only thing missing was the little window for the public to watch us. All of these swimming acrobats were headless because they kept their faces out of the water. There was John the regular Friday afternoon swimmer riding the red noodle like a pony-bicycle, there was a blonde butterfly-tattooed lady in black with pink foam barbells jogging and swinging her arms, there was the Muybridge lady going up and down on the yellow stairs. There was a new guy who resembled Chris Christie. He dove into the middle and made a lot of waves swimming the sidestroke. I swam like a sting ray with my yellow flippers and red suit and slithered between John and Chris Christie. Then one by one everyone left and eventually so did I.
