We made these tonight and they were amazing. I am obsessed with soul foods of the world. Foods unite us!
2 packages (3.5 inch square) wonton wrappers (from package of 100)(purchased at Price Rite)
1 3/4 pounds ground pork
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
4 cloves garlic, minced
2-7 tablespoons thinly sliced green onion
4 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons sesame oil
5 cups finely shredded vegetable mix; carrots,3 large mushrooms chopped, minced celery, you can use cabbage too!
In a large bowl, combine the pork, ginger, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, vegetables. Stir until well mixed.
(I also added sesame seeds and splash of vinegar and garlic chili paste)
Place 1 heaping teaspoon of pork filling (use tiny melon ball scoop) onto each wonton skin. Moisten edges with water and fold edges over to form a triangle shape. Pinch edges slightly to seal in filling. Set dumplings aside on a lightly floured surface until ready to cook.
To Cook: Steam 12-14 dumplings in a covered bamboo or (greased) metal steamer for about 3 minutes. Serve immediately with sriracha + soy sauce. Save leftover filling and wonton wrappers for another day.
UPDATE: We made them as potstickers this morning. So pretty so good!
