From RI you'd take I-295 to Rte 6 west to Rte 101 west (in
Scituate) all the way to the CT border. (At the border you could turn
right onto Riley Chase Rd, but it's so small that you'd probably miss
it.) So keep going into CT for about a half-mile and look for Pond Rd, a
sharp right. Follow Pond Rd for less than a half-mile and turn right
onto Dam Rd. There will be parking for a few cars on the right side of
the road, at the dam. Park, get out, and continue walking along the dam
and up the hill. There'll be a dirt road on your left with a house a
little ways up it on the left. Just keep going, this is a public way
onto a small peninsula that is technically open to the public. Keep
going and you'll eventually see openings on the right that lead to the
water.
