Doug Drozdowski, owner of Polish Prince Pierogi in Billerica, meets many people who don’t even know what pierogi are, he said.

“A lot of people will come to us and say, ‘Oh, it’s like a ravioli,’” said Drozdowski, 47. In fact, it is not a ravioli, it is a “polish dumpling,” he said.

With that in mind, public recognition of pierogi is “always a good thing,” Drozdowski said.

A few customers have mentioned the Dershowitz situation to Drozdowski in a light-hearted tone, he said, but nothing serious.

Drozdowski started Polish Prince Pierogi in 2018 after leaving a career in finance and pursuing his true passion. He learned how to make pierogi from his grandmother.
