Compassion for Homelessness

Official figures released just over a week ago show the number of people sleeping rough in Dublin has soared by a fifth over the past year.

At least 168 homeless people will be sleeping out over the coming weeks and months, it is suggested.

Last week, leading homelessness campaigner Sr Stanislaus Kennedy said the Government could stop families becoming homeless at the stroke of a pen to allow welfare payments to keep pace with rocketing rents.Article
