Today my back muscles are sore from the long walk and big swim yesterday. I am washing our winter blankets. I am glad we have a washing machine and a warm boiler room where the blankets can hang on the line and be dry in time for bed. Romeo and I had our downtown walk in the rain because we both needed it.
Yesterday I ran into Jungee. We were talking about polio and fitness. He told me a story of a woman with polio on his mail delivery route years ago. At her request he would sometimes help carry her from her wheelchair to her bed. One Christmas Eve he boiled two lobsters for her and let them cool. Then he brought them to her and told her that he put them in her fridge for her to enjoy when she was ready.
