Clarence Darrow
Clarence Darrow, the lawyer of Scopes Trial fame. Here's a fuller version of the quote, which appears in Darrow's 1932 work The Story of My Life:
All men have an emotion to kill; when they strongly dislike some one they involuntarily wish he was dead. I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.

Day 4
Today was day 4 of 80 laps. Tomorrow is our anniversary of adopting ROMEO-pup 3 years ago. I need to brush his teeth!
Dog Mom
When I was five I snuggled up with our family dog hoping she would think I was her puppy. Even then I knew she was a better mother.
Dream
I dreamed I was baking a turkey at Deb's kitchen. It was a school-night and Bill needed me to get back home so Deb cut the partially raw bird in half and sent me home with it to finish baking.

The Pine Needle Forest
We took a walk tonight as the sun was setting in the pine needle forest. Orange light!
Edwidge Danticat
Create dangerously, for people who read dangerously. This is what I’ve always thought it meant to be a writer. Writing, knowing in part that no matter how trivial your words may seem, someday, somewhere, someone may risk his or her life to read them.
Nancy's Pug
My neighbor Nancy is afraid her dog will outlive her. "You think I'm healthy but I have a pacemaker and all sorts of things going on, and my daughter wants to travel and not have dogs anymore."
"I am glad to adopt him if necessary, meanwhile I'll be his Godmother." I said.
Turning 60 in 3 Months
I swam 80* laps again today. I think I'm freaked out about turning 60. I remember when I didn't think I'd live to be 16. My mother had told me all sorts of lies about my health. Now she is gone and I am an athlete.
*33 is a metric swimmers mile, 36 is an actual mile, and 72 is 2 miles and 80 is a nice number.

May Sarton
“Without darkness, nothing comes to birth, As without light, nothing flowers.”
― May Sarton
Swim my Age
I decided to 'swim my age' in time for my upcoming 60th birthday. Today I swam 80 laps.
My friend Lin a swimmer told me she wrote a letter to Morticia when she was 12, and received a letter back!
Be a Loner
Be a loner. That gives you time to wonder, to search for the truth. Have holy curiosity. Make your life worth living.Albert Einstein
