There's a ozone alert Sunday for Southern Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
For people with asthma, higher levels of ozone can trigger wheezing and other breathing problems. The alert will be in effect from 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Sunday.
Air quality will be better in the northern half of Rhode Island with the alert area starting in Warwick and covering all of the communities to the south.
"The level of ozone concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards," warned the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.
Otherwise, Sunday will be hot and sunny with a high in Providence of 91.
Thunderstorms are likely later in the week. The National Weather Service forecasts a 30% chance of storms Monday night and a 60 percent chance on Tuesday.
