The Wedding Party

After college when Gabriella's husband was in grad school she worked as a nanny for a rich family in Alabama. The man of the house kept making lewd remarks and grabbed her breasts. She was 21, and complained to her mother crying over the phone. Her mother told her to stay because the money was good. Two years later she didn't recall her mother's response at all. Her parents had empty-nest syndrome. Their daughters had graduated college and were engaged to their boyfriends. Their parents decided to adopt Tanya a college-aged African American girl who became the new hot prize in the family. She could sing and she was beautiful and performed at each of the sister's weddings. At Gabriella's wedding to Timothy, Tanya got drunk and told the party guests about how she was so afraid of thunderstorms she had to hide in bed with her new father who always slept in the nude. Tanya's new mother was a principal at a boarding school and lived away during the week.
