First Day with the New Head

It might be the third day but I finally have the new head, transmit mode. It had been three months and 7 days (13 weeks) with the old (receive mode) head. New head asks, Is Walmart open 24 hours, I need new sneakers. Governing head says. It's bed time, 'tired is stupid, go to sleep'.
I woke up from dreams at 3:30 thinking I should paint my toenails fire engine red because they will look cool in the turquoise pool. That's a sign of the new head. Inner dialog full of ideas; pancake breakfast for swimmers. Buns and rolls for the police department. Whatever happened to that bread class? I wrap up the 19 sourdough loaves and put them in the chest freezer. I'm a little crabby that time is suddenly accelerating. If I just had one head, I moan, things would be... You have two wings to fly, not one, my husband reminds me.
'God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches by means of opposites so that you will have two wings to fly, not one'
— Rumi
