She gave her children away every chance she got. And when they were with her she was often in the throws of hypochondria, making calls to all of her acquaintances from her little red phone book telling them she might have cancer. She sucked the air out of every room with her need and greed. Spoiled child spoiled wife. She sent the children off every summer to work camps and weeknight every night they had to eat with the maid at 5PM so she could have a honeymoon dinner alone behind closed doors with her new husband at 7:30PM 

The children never grew up. They chased after baubles, telling themselves lies. They are still out there painting the story of the happy childhood with loving parents.
