Pawtucket Responds: Where there's smoke, there's fire

Where there's smoke, there's fire

Today's legislation commonly bans cigarette smoking indoors, on the beaches and at public parks, so allowing fire pits in close urban quarters hardly makes sense.

Furthermore, there are things worse than wood smoke, and what is to stop someone from burning seriously unhealthy substances such as plastics or contaminants such as used motor oil or mercury thermometers?

I also would like to enjoy my yard as well, my husband has Asthma and the smoke & smell will bother him. Enjoy your yard, but respect your neighbors you want to have a cook out fine that's why they sell grills. Ban fire pits they are dangerous, some people can barely use a grill, I remember awhile back were 2 people fell in a pit and died there are a lot of little kids around and them pits are an accident waiting to happen. Buy A GRILL TO COOK .And let your neighbors breath , the air is dirty enough.
