The Perfect Beverage

Last night at Price Rite we bought a bottle labeled hard cider from Spain. Can they really sell this here? I mean it's alcoholic and this is a supermarket. Maybe because it's not wine and not beer, it slips through the cracks, my husband said. Or maybe as a one time thing it's okay. I was skeptical. When we got home we took out two cheezy champagne flutes from the back of the cupboard and had a toast. The cider tasted like overly sweet, bubbly, slightly sulfury apple juice. Oh well! We both laughed. Ah hah my husband said holding the bottle under a gigantic magnifying glass, this is deceptive. It reads less than point five percent alcohol. It really is carbonated apple juice. I just did some research online. This is a rip off of a real Spanish hard cider with the same label minus the typos. The true source of this product is unknown. What a perfect beverage to toast the passing year, I said.
