Soujourner House Sues City

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island filed a lawsuit against the City of Woonsocket on Monday, accusing city officials of illegally withholding $35,000 in federal grants from Sojourner House, a Providence-based nonprofit agency that aids survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. “We don’t understand why they’ve taken this approach. We feel this is unfair and arbitrary.”
