Hello Woonsocket? All We Need Is...

All we need in WOONSOCKET RI is walking distance produce affordable and downtown. (Farmer's Market is not affordable to non WIC citizens.) What we have are drugstores, liquor stores and people subsisting on canned food milk bacon eggs from the Dollar Store/Walgreen's Rite Aid. Every day I see seniors and others subsisting on these items without AFFORDABLE WALKING DISTANCE fresh produce.

I'm in love with my city. Ask anyone and they'll tell you. This is an exceptional place because of the kind and open minded people. The only thing missing in our little city is a walking distance affordable produce market. I realize how much we need this when I see seniors buying groceries at the Dollar Store and Walgreens and Rite Aid. What about apples oranges bananas, potatoes, onions, garlic celery cabbage? We are lucky that Shaw's on North Main carries potatoes, onions peppers bananas and beans and rice at an affordable cost. Back when we had Gardella's you could fill a cardboard box with fruits and vegetables for 6 dollars. I wish we still had that market.

Perhaps if people needed some encouragement on how to cook there could be some in store demos on how to make a simple meal.

Update: As if the gods heard my cry for downtown produce, I found a perfectly in tact hand of bananas at the castle windowsill on my walk to the pool. They were frozen. I adopted them.
