Annie and Ray gave us a little bottle of their homemade vanilla for Christmas two years ago. This elevated our granola to star status. It was life changing. We began incubating our own homemade vanilla. It takes six months so we start a new batch every Spring and Fall equinox.
Yesterday we bought 50 pounds of rolled oats from JAR Baker's supply in Lincoln RI. I make granola every week. We store the oats in the freezer because one year a mouse ate a hole in the bag and then we found him a few inches away. He had eaten himself to death or perhaps he died of dehydration.
