I realized what I made last night was basically Caponata as a pizza topping! And yes I sampled it for breakfast too. I use Chianti in place of sugar. I also added black and green olives, onions, garlic, & artichoke hearts & spinach and sundried tomatoes, pepperoni chopped fine, pepper jack cubed & no eggplant or celery. Spontaneous variations on a theme! The oil and marinade from the art hearts and sundried tomatoes & brine from the green olives created a wonderful bite along with red chili flakes. I swore I had capers but searched everywhere to no avail. Must try cellar. I bet they're in the cold room. We used to buy 4 jars for a bargain at JOBLOT.
