What do you want your legacy to be?

Thinking a lot lately about death since I have recently experienced friends parents and relatives dying.

What do you want your legacy to be, since one day each of us will be gone. Hopefully the folks who are still alive will smile, laugh and tell good stories when they think of us.

Will you give the younger generation your stories, recipes, clothes, paintings, musical instruments, memories, while you are alive? It matters!

I have more happy memories of my friends parents than my own. When my mother died I couldn't and still can't think of one good memory of her. Zilch! That's quite a legacy considering that my memory goes back to infancy. I have many good memories of laughing with my Grandparents.

Will you squirrel away all of your secrets or share them freely, hoping the next generation grows a greater crop? I love to see the successful celebrities who are so kind and generous with their gifts that they form foundations like Dolly Parton & Chef Ming Tsai. They understand because they are grateful and gracious and they know it's not about them it's about the community they have created.
