sip tea and read a poem and look at art

When I was a child my favorite memories were sitting at the table listening to my Grandparents and my Step Father tell stories or being in the in my art studio in the cellar knowing the house was packed with holiday celebrations. I am trying to duplicate this joy by connecting with my community. As I watch my friends take off for the summer I realize my holiday vacation is right here between my ears and among these streets. I am living as my grandparents lived on Brighton Beach and I am doing it on East School and Rathbun Streets in Little Rhody's Woonsocket.
Someday there will be a fabulous bakery here and cafe tables and people will no longer see this intersection as a nucleus of drugs and prostitution. They will see this spot as a place to sip tea, read a poem, and look at art.
