There are ten colorful kids-clothes hanging on the 4th floor balcony across the street. Why do I LOVE CLOTHESLINES? Because they are short stories, prayer flags, unpretentious exhibits of our humanity.
It's pouring rain with a flood watch. I can't wait to get out there with my tall red rubber boots and Kelly green sweatpants and my bright yellow raincoat and big fire-engine-red hat with my amber sunglasses. I am all about functional and cheerful fashion. My favorite thing is wearing dayglow highway dept sweatshirt to be one of the highwaymen. They are all nice guys and they love Lily. When I pointed out the broken bottle one guy said We'll get that, we don't want her to get hurt "She's part of the City" he was so sweet.
