As the date for the wedding drew closer she realized there was no way she was going to socialize with her family, the one she left behind 45 years ago.
She left their class, their version of childhood events and their approach to life behind. It's sad but true. The last thing she wanted was to introduce herself to a bunch of strangers and people formerly known as siblings. She knew it would mean walking back into the role her family had gifted her. The sick child, the problem child, the wrong one.
She thought that when her parents died she could laugh and talk with her siblings about their childhood. But she discovered with shock that her siblings had become her parents in both mannerisms and storytelling. On top of it they had not grown up. They were stunted just like her childish parents. It was like a horror movie.
