3:15 AM

We were awakened by a huge crash sound followed by an alarm and explosions. Bill got out of bed to look. "A car on fire," I said to the 911 dispatcher. Smoke and flames were climbing high singeing the buildings. The horn on the car was stuck sounding. It was parked next to building three. I was out of breath from nerves. The fire men arrived and put out the fire but it wasn't easy the flames kept reigniting. We could see that it was a pick up truck. Then the police arrived and they were wearing dark blue so they were hard to see. They circled the truck. The firemen had swinging lanterns and wore yellow jackets and tanks on their backs. They have been poking around looking for evidence and clues. The firetruck is still here rumbling. It's been an hour. Thank God we woke up and called. It could have taken the buildings. 6:AM The police are still out here taking pictures of the burned truck. It was stolen, driven here and torched. These abandoned parking lots are a favorite. Micro-climates of crime. 6:25 Tow truck has arrived and they are loading the truck. The pale blue vinyl siding on the building has melted. What a mess. Another absentee landlord who is ineducable.
