Allergic

When I was in junior high my mother said, "You are allowed to wear eye shadow now!" I wasn't interested in makeup. My first touch of make up to my eyelid caused an allergic reaction. I was proud of it and never it tried again. She forced the issue and bought me a makeup kit which I promptly gave away to a girl who would appreciate it. I always gave things away from my mother because they were not gifts. They were awful reminders of a pact I did not want to enter.
