I'll turn on every radio in the house not to hear my own thoughts.

I'll turn on every radio in the house not to hear my own thoughts.

I walked downtown.

I ran into Mike our Elbow Street neighbor.

I used to be the dishwasher but now I'm cooking!

His black hair was moussed. He had energy in his walk.  He smiled and I saw he had a missing bicuspid.

Cooking is a great skill. Gotta eat, I said.

That's right.

And  the restaurant is so close, you can walk to work.

I ran into Brenda

My brother died in January, on New Year's Day, she said

I'm so sorry.

She was her sparkly self with her signature tilted hat and dark red lipstick

 I looked up.

A man with yellow and black braids was shoveling water off the flat black rubber roof across the street

as last night's snow melted in the sun.
