The Orange Pitbull: Cognitive Dissonance
There was a guy who lived in our neighborhood years ago. When he was in a good place he had charisma and funny stories, great word-play and a smart sense of humor. He cast himself as the hero to all. When he was in a bad place, at the end of the day, he picked fights and terrorized people. Mostly he was just a 3rd grade bully in a 62 year old body. He was evicted after a fight with his landlord. The relief from neighbors was palpable! "Peace at last," they said. The funny thing is he began hanging out in front of his former apartment and taking early morning walks with his fat pink pit bull while carrying his favorite weapon, a golf club. I thought it was to clean up after his dog but no, he He was looking for trouble. This was his way of trying to protect his pride.
