It's Best Not to Remember these Things

Polar bears swim in the tank
at Roger Williams Park Zoo.
You can see them in the turquoise window,
they have huge black claws,
they look snuggly.
I love them,
I want to swim with them.
But one bit a guy's head off
in Canada when he answered the door,
and a Brooklyn boy in The Bronx jumped in to cuddle
and was eaten.
It's best not to remember these things.
