It Makes Sense Now

Don't write about what you know—write about what you're interested in. TRACY CHEVALIER

As a child thought I'd end up on another planet and be responsible for explaining to the residents how everything worked back on Earth. How does a car work, how do airplanes fly. You name it I was supposed to be able to explain it all to the Martians.

This was the level of responsibility I felt in my family. As a child I was grinding my teeth and suffering stomach pains and ailments of acute anxiety.

At age 11 I dreamed I was controlling the car my mother drove by leaning left or right in the back seat. All of this makes sense to me now.
