Carla Hayden will be sworn in as the 14th librarian of Congress at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Thomas Jefferson Building in the District of Columbia. The ceremony will be broadcast live on the library's YouTube channel at youtube.com/LOC.

Bragging rights: Fortune magazine named her the 25th most influential world leader in 2016.

She is the first woman and first African-American to be appointed librarian of Congress.

Personal: Single, no children.
