Narcissistic Twists

"Call me Reverend Rose," she said shaking my hand. She wore a loud flower-print dress and a white straw hat. "I just purchased the Harrisburg Mansion. You'll have to come for tea," she said becoming an instant friend. I was uncomfortable. I like people but I don't like sudden friends. I make friends slowly and cautiously. "Can I tell my story?" she asked. "Sure, go ahead," I replied. "I invited Jeremy to help me around the house. He was living at The Commons the halfway house in town and he was such a sweet boy. Well, the next thing you know my boy had access to my home, my purse and my jewels while I was asleep. He cleaned me out! I went to City Hall and called on the Mayor and she wouldn't see me. I went to the Chief of police and he said he'd be right over. My boy was wanted by the police and it was front page news all over the state. He was the top ten most wanted. He was captured a few days later and was sent to jail. I put up the bail money because I knew his family wouldn't. My boy might get out of rehab, they won't tell me, and I'm scared to death." I had the distinct feeling she was loving her story.
