Baking Day

I know I shouldn't do it but sometimes I can't help myself. I set out on a walk while baking bread. I wore my apron and carried my kitchen timer for the reminder not to wander or linger. Every so often I'd glance at the time left and calculate the minutes to return home. My dog was happy with the arrangement since he was waiting for his walk all morning. The best part was walking back inside and being hit with the amazing smell of bread. I didn't want to play it too close. When we returned I had 15 minutes to spare. Enough time to rotate the loaves and spritz the tops with water.
