I heard the sound of shouting. I went to the front window. It was still dark out. Four adult males in the empty lot yelling, pushing and shoving each other. One got pushed under a parked car. They were moving like they were walking in water. I phoned headquarters. "There's a fight. They might be drunk." I said.
"We've got a thirty three at East School and Rathbun. Four adult males," the dispatcher said. "Thank you mam."
A few seconds later heard the "whoop-whoop" of a police siren.
On my walk I ran into the Chief and asked him about the early morning incident.
"Do you believe the fight was over a woman?" he said.
"Of course," I smiled. "Isn't that what it's always about?"
"Are you getting dressed up for Halloween? He asked.
"Na, I already wear a costume every day," I said.
