My Own Backyard

I'm trying to focus on my own backyard versus thinking about the abandoned yard next door. I raked the juniper bush plant debris from the sidewalks out front. I pushed the small piles into the gutter knowing the rain would carry it away.

Then I bagged two bags of leaves that were clustered under the grilling table around the hose and pile of broken table parts. All of this was in the small back yard. It had been bugging me for a week. As far as doing it this morning, it was a spontaneous decision. It looks beautiful.

The broken rotted wooden table is now leaning against the chain link fence and I can haul it to the dumpster since it's already in bits. I can wait for help with the car since it's raining now.

We also have a forest of Quaking Aspen saplings growing in the big yard surrounding our picnic table. That's a project for another day.

It felt great to be outside in the gray mist and quiet.
