Adapted French Tourtiere

 turkey sweet potato cranberries onion kale celery

  • 1 to 2 pound ground turkey or beef and pork blend
  • 1 large russet (or sweet) potato (peeled and cut into chunks)
  • 3 stalks celery (or kale)
  • 1 medium onion (peeled and finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • dried cranberries for color and sweet tart
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5 cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 double crust home made corn oil crust 
  • 1 beaten egg for glaze
  • salt and pepper
