Street Walker

Walking home from City Hall with Lily yesterday, delivering my home owners exemption papers, I ran into A near Chan's. She is the sister of L, my favorite long term neighbor.

A was a drug addicted prostitute but she has gotten her act together after many bad years. She said the local hospital is hostile towards drug addicts. "They don't want to deal with it." she said.

"I imagine that's changing now that it's a problem belonging to everyone's child, not just the poor," I said.
