Walking

I walked to the library to get my homeowners exemption papers notarized and then to City Hall to deliver them. It's a heat wave out there. Fifty degrees! I was on fire. I striped down to my tank top. I stepped in a huge puddle of slush and my red scarf got caught in the velcro flaps on my bag. I ran into Andrea a former neighbor who looked good, healthy and glowing. I met a lady with black shiny hair and blue eyes who admired Lily and told me how her dogs saved her life. They do that, I said. She saves mine every day.
