Snow! Woonsocket is a Snow Globe Today

I love snow, and I love fog. It's snowing big fat flakes and it's piling up vertically on the telephone wires and bushes and branches. Woonsocket is a snow globe today. I am playing classical music on the radio. Lily is napping at my feet and Sammy is at the window on his favorite blanket. Oop, he's not on it. I must go get it. I washed it and it's hanging in the boiler room. I oiled the arms of the stray oak and mauve vinyl chair we adopted. After scrubbing it with Murphy's Oil soap, I used with lemon oil! I am starting to love this chair. It speaks to the olive green drapes and the twisty turny Dr. Seuss plant. This chair is another era but one deserving of respect. As my friend Peter Mahoney says the best things find you. Yesterday I found two abandoned blankets at the bus stop. One was polka dotted lime green and pink! They were urine-soaked and stinky. But I carry recycled bags for scooping up after my dog so I covered my hands and packaged the blankets up in two big plastic shopping bags. I thought of the pour souls who slept out and soiled their blankets. I carried the bags home and dumped them into the super hot soak cycle in the washing machine. I didn't even tell my husband. The best things do find me because I am not afraid.

Spring fever before the real spring. When the real spring comes I will be miserable so I am enjoying it now. Today I will oil the rest of the chair and set up some dough to bake. Happy Friday!
