In New England, the town of Rutland, Massachusetts completely canceled its parade, fireworks, and concert due to staffing and severe police/fire shortages. Several other communities, including Scituate, Massachusetts and Block Island, Rhode Island, were forced to postpone or alter some of their plans due to severe weather.  Aside from Rutland, most traditional town parades and fireworks across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont are proceeding as planned.
